A.G. Strain opened a camp in a sugar pine grove northwest of Mt. Wilson summit in the early 1890s. The pine shaded resort served a main stop for overnight visitors to Mount Wilson until the building of the first Mount Wilson Hotel in 1905. The camp remained a resort until 1914. E.B.
